Mega Collection Plus has several pretty decent Game Gear games and a bunch of cool bonus features (including the manuals to all of the games), which Steam doesn't have any of. The resolution indeed can't be changed on Mega Collection plus and there are reports of issues with controller compatability, although I've never had any problems with it. I have both and I like them both, but there are several differences to take into consideration.
